For familiesIn any weatherWellness day

Sometimes the mountain weather just isn't on your side — and that's exactly when the GrimmingTherme comes into its own. Just over half an hour from Schladming, you can slip into blissfully warm thermal water in Bad Mitterndorf while the clouds drift around the Grimming outside. Seven pools indoors and out, a sauna village with its own bar and a dedicated children's area with a giant slide make the spa the perfect plan B for families, couples and anyone who simply wants to switch off for a while. Pack your swimwear — the warm water takes care of the rest.

Prices & opening hours

The spa is open daily 8:00–21:00, the sauna from 9:00 (pool and sauna close at 20:45). Adult day ticket € 24.00; children 4–14 € 13.50; seniors/students € 19.00. The 4‑hour ticket is € 19.50. Therme + Sauna & Fitness combo is € 36.50. Sauna upgrade € 12.50; on weekends, public holidays and school breaks there’s an extra € 2 per person on all tickets (as of October 2026, valid from 22 May 2026 until the end of the 2026/27 winter season).

Getting there from Schladming

Drive the B320 towards Liezen to Trautenfels, then take the B145 via Klachau to Bad Mitterndorf (Neuhofen 183) — around 40 km, about 35 minutes. Parking: € 5 per day (pay at the spa cashier). The drive through the Enns valley with views of the Grimming and Trautenfels Castle is a little highlight in itself.

Insider tips

Weekday mornings are the most relaxing — you’ll often have the pools almost to yourself. If possible, plan your visit on a weekday to avoid the € 2 per‑person weekend/holiday surcharge. After your spa day, a short stop at Trautenfels Castle (Universalmuseum Joanneum) on the return route is worthwhile. Towels and bathrobes can be rented on site if you left them at the hotel.

  • 3 indoor and 4 outdoor pools with thermal water
  • Children's area with giant slide
  • Sauna village with sauna bar
  • Panoramic view of the Grimming

Tip: Weekday mornings are the quietest — and the 4‑hour ticket at € 19.50 is cheaper than a day ticket. On weekends, public holidays and school breaks there’s a € 2 per‑person surcharge on all tickets; the sauna upgrade costs € 12.50.
