Dachstein Distillery Mandlberggut — Tour & Tasting

A rainy day can also smell of Swiss pine, dwarf pine and fine brandy: at the Mandlberggut in Mandling, on the border between Styria and Salzburger Land, the family has been distilling schnapps, gin and even whisky for generations — and distils the legendary dwarf pine oil on the side. On a tour of the two distilleries you'll learn how mountain herbs and fruit become fine spirits, and taste your way through the range. Just a good ten minutes from your hotel, a grey afternoon turns into a delightful voyage of discovery.
Tours & prices
Tours run Monday–Friday in summer; in winter by advance booking (+43 6454 7660). The standard tour with tasting lasts about 50 minutes and includes two samples (non‑alcoholic on request). Prices: Adults €10.50; children 10–15 €7.50; under‑9s free. Sommercard/Salzburger Sportwelt Card discounts available (adults €8.50, children €5.50). Please arrive about 20 minutes before the start.
